The uphill struggle was real but, the view was worth it
Potato Chip Rock, Mount Woodson in Poway, California.
During our end of the summer camping trip in San Elijo we decided while in the area to adventure out and hike Potato Chip Rock. Us being us, and having the tendency to get lost on every hike we take, we decided to make sure to do our research this time before attempting the hike.
I am certainly glad we did, GoHikeit.com recommended we bring plenty of water and to be prepared because the uphill climb is challenging. They were absolutely right! I definitely thought the journey to the top would be the death of me. They were not joking about the uphill climb. Thank goodness Jessica kept reassuring me I could make it the top, because once we made it to the top the view was breathtaking. Truly, you are on what feels like the edge of the world overlooking a lush landscape of rolling hills and forest.
We definitely lucked out, being that there wasn’t much of a line at the rock, as we heard this hike is quite popular. All in all we recommend it, the view at the top is totally worth the soreness you will feel for the next two days 😉
